Strange Business Card Ideas

May 14th 2009 17:26
In these hard economic times every business is looking for a gimmick to distinguish them for their competition. The world of business cards is becoming a little kooky.

Take this idea for business cards made from beef jerky:

We start with 100% beef jerky, and SEAR your contact information into it with a 150 WATT CO2 LASER.

Screw die-cutting. Forget about foil, popups, or UV spot lamination. THESE business cards have two ingredients: MEAT AND LASERS.

Or how about using the humble clothes peg as a business card?

Then of course there is the stretchy rubber business card.

Or perhaps the "construct your own" toy car business card will send the perfect message to your customers?

Best Business card ideas I've heard of is a gold coin with company info and a trash can with company logo where they can throw away all the brochures you give them.

hi Jake,
i like the two ideas you mentioned . . . the gold coin is really interesting
i wonder if a pen or a fridge magnet with a company logo would be more effective than some of these irregular "cards"?

hi Yulius,
it seems likes mans creativity is limitless!

The trouble with business cards is getting around to filing them so you can find them again. The problem with these ones is where in the hell to you keep them so you can find them when you need them.

I agree with your comment to Jake, Morgan. The fridge magnet one has always been a good idea - especially for emergency type numbers.

They might be a cute idea but really very unpractical - for me anyway.

hi Janet,
yes i totally agree, all the examples above are very impractical . . . they would make an impression, but they would not be very good for filing and referencing at a later date
i imagine this random piece of beef jerky floating around someones desk top haha

When I worked in Intelligence, my business card was written in lemon juice.

It read like this:
